Empty and Full – an Honest Mother’s Day

Empty Glass photo by D Sharon Pruitt (flickr)Some days I am bone dry.

Even an accidental Spiderman cup of juice flying at my lap from across the table can’t move me. I am un-rested mother, and that descriptor shakes a stick at my perspective on sexy and fun and life and light – on the gratitude that keeps my heart singing.

I get caught under clouds of exhaustion, the darkness rolled in for a visit, and I wait in the silence for it all to burst, for the rain to soak me down and relieve my spirit.

But it’s dry, and my soul feels like it needs a nap. Wake me up when this is over.

When I hit these days, I prescribe to myself a few remedies: memory verses, prayers, no television, more church, and usually I exhaust myself further before something breaks, like a thunder clap.

cannot leave comment on incourage, but it just posted today so not sure how to have left one by friday anyway. whether I win or lose, your words are where I am at right now. I am not getting better, but I feel hope as to how to get better. Here's looking forward to naptime and a little more God on my part. Praying He will meet me here this afternoon to restore what He has started. Thanks!

Happy Mother's Day to ALL of You : )
I am Thankful for what You have Shared! I am Not, sure why we wait so long to reach out? But I am Very Thankful that God is just waiting with His Grace and Open Arms to Heal, Restore, Love and Fill us up again & again. I do know, that if You give Him 5 minutes, He will return it to You and More! Through experience if I spend time in the Morning and not listen to the negative thoughts, I do have time and I am Ready for the Day with the Love I need to Face the Day. God Bless to Each of Us God's Love!

It is always so encouraging to hear that others face the same struggles. We are all flawed, but in God we can be hopeful people. Thanks for sharing.
