Project Listen
This coming Tuesday, I’m shutting this machine off. I’m turning off the celly, and I’m pushing power on the tv. I’m missing my boys.
I thought you might do it with me. Turn all the knobs down — and Listen. I’m going to have a day of conversation and play with my kids. Maybe you need to listen to God? Yes. So do I. I’ll do that, too, I hope.
I’m going to get a notepad and pencil and write down a few of the things I hear. I guess I have a report due next Wednesday. Often, I won’t read a book unless there’s a report due.
It is going to be hard for me. Isn’t that sad? Anybody in? You don’t have to have kids to need to listen more.
By the way, if you’re reading this, I absolutely love your socks off. Thanks for being my friend.

June 12, 2008Also, no cleaning allowed! That's a rule I had to say out loud so I wouldn't break it.

I love this idea to shut everythign off and have a listening/playing/attention-given-to-my-kids day.
