Pensieve & Kolkata
We both had on purple sweaters when we met in the lobby of Hotel Preston for Blissdom. Robin Dance from Pensieve is magnetic. Her blog header claims magical deliciousness, and the followthrough? Outstanding.
Robin is one of those people to whom you immediately start telling your secrets. She’s been there. She’s girly and can swish about a party making everyone feel fabulous. She’s undaunted and just doesn’t mind making a few folks squirm. I love her.
Read her at Pensieve. Follow her on Twitter. Sign up for her feed. Listen to her be a sexy mommy. Listen to her love words.
And most importantly, watch and listen as she goes to the other side of the world – to India. Let’s see Kolkata through her eyes as she travels there with Compassion International. Let’s hear her writing transform and her love for the broken stretch to near unbearable.
It’s not often that we have this opportunity, to hear such a truth-teller and, in the instantly gratifying blog way, get to understand what she learns of India as it unravels before her. We’ll get to see what rips at her heart and what humbles her to the floor, and we’ll get to see what surprises her and what delights she finds in the unexpected.
Did you look at them yesterday? The faces? Robin will see straight into many of their eyes. I can’t wait to go there with her, so here’s hoping you’re going, too. Will you watch with me? Can we talk about what happens in our hearts, how we wrestle? What would you, yourself, expect from a trip like that?

February 16, 2009Brava! I couldn't have said it better myself. No, seriously. :)
I'm excited to "go" with her on this journey, too. And p.s., y'all could be sisters or cousins or something. Look at those faces side by side! :)

February 16, 2009Y'all both are simply adorable, huggable, lovable, and I so wanted to bring both of you home with me! What you wrote was absolutely beautiful and a great tribute to Robin. I will most definitely be watching with you and praying for her every step of the way! I'm so glad they invited her to go on this trip -- she is an amazing woman and writer -- and so are you :) So where do you want to go? :)
