now we have a subtle way to ask for a new subject

ffThe most laughable thing this week happened when Seth and I were on the road together. We had done a lot of talking, and for some reason “Come on shake your body, baby, do the Conga!” was stuck in my head (Gloria Estefan).

I have never known anyone with worse musical terets than I have. I can even sing all the instrumental parts, and it’s always random – at the strangest times. Long after I was singing the parts aloud, Seth had been talking for a while on one particular topic, and I guess subconsciously, I was ready for a different subject because I suddenly burst out with the transitional trumpet music that branches the chorus to another line in the song.

DA do da do – DA do dada.

He hushed up right quick and then burst into laughter. Now, I don’t think I can explain it any better than that, but y’all it was so funny I cried. Rudeness jumped out of my mouth trumpet-style before I even knew it.

Please please please please watch this. It’ll make your whole day.

Too funny, friend! I am not sure I should admit this, but I had a little bit of an obsession with Gloria Estefan back in middle school...and to make it even better? I performed a dance number in the talent show to that song!

My Friday Funny is up, too! I love this little blog carnival...thanks! (I think I'm gonna need some laughs today...check out my post)

Happy Friday!

Wow! Gloria Estefan -- did I wake up somewhere in the middle of the 1980s? I do love 80s music, though! Thanks for blasting me back for a few minutes! My Friday Funny is up here http://itfeelslikechaos.blogspot.com/2009/02/they-grow-up-too-fast.html

all you needed to say was Gloria Estefan, and that would have made me laugh periodically throughout the day.

Perhaps, Baker, instead of checking my wife's blog you should write a music review today. What say you, friend?

Oh my, this was perfect. And to add to the funny, when I was younger, I thought the words were, "Go chickabody, baby do that Zonga". Who am I kidding. I thought those were the words this morning, until I saw the correct ones in print for the first time!

Yeah! I've been looking forward to today. :)

Okay, all I could think while watching the congo man was that he looked suspiciously like Billy Mays.
And what was the dude with the red wife-beater and suspenders thinking? The 80's were so fashionably bad.
That was hilarious. Thanks for the laugh.

Amber! This is hilarious! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with this rare and silly sickness. I also love to sing along with the instruments...

I'm excited to have something funny enough to share! I've been wanting to join the party, but apparently have a really dull life...

ok- so I totally get you with the random bursts of music, my friend. This is so funny, and what is great is that Seth actually laughed along. He's got a great sense of humor too, to follow along with you! My 2 yr old son watched the entire thing with me and clapped and "yay-ed" at the end. It was a good laugh, and although the styles were atrocious, the music itself is still addicting!

Hee hee - so cute! I'm not a very funny person. I tend more toward the random. I think my funny could probably use a little work.

Oh, but there is one funny I could offer you, come to think of it! A photo shoot on the beach, romantic sea, cloudscapes, sunset, footprints in the sand... and then... Well you can read the caption. ;-)

oh, how I used to do cartwheels to Gloria.

I'm introducing myself here- your Mother Letter Project caught my eye on another blog, and your Love Story has reeled me in! I want to write my love story with my husband, but to be honest, I don't remember too much of it because it was all so blurry and quick! Can I start from where we are now? hah!

Today we were in the car and I noticed A's sleeves were pushed up high. Now, I'm constantly shoving my sleeves up and then yanking them back down because they drive me nuts. So A. is talking and then suddenly he stops and looks down. "What are you doing?"

I had pulled his sleeve down while he was driving. And I totally didn't realize it. He was just subconsciously making me uncomfortable, I guess. I sheepishly pushed it back up and then had to explain my behavior.
