HomeGoods
Today at Inspired Room, Sweet Melissa is celebrating Fall, and today is the last day she is offering 3 HomeGoods Makeover Shopping Sprees, and I’m wanting to tell you here what I want to do with one. I think I might enjoy a spree!
This old Rock House never didn’t feel like home, but it has taken a while for it to smell like home and for it to look homey. My biggest trouble is with how to take up a wall space without spending a ton of money. I’ve been here for four months, and I’ve finally added a few touches.
If I make a permanent space for fresh flowers, I’ll be much more likely to purchase them, and even the cheap flowers are such a happy, happy thing to me. I’m thankful to still be in Farmer’s Market Season.
Some of you helped me with this table arrangement. See? Twitter is good for something. The print on the wall is from DaySpring, and y’all, I really like it. The tall natural stems take up a lot of wall space, and were on sale at Hobby Lobby.
In our entry, we painted the wall a dark chocolate brown, and I bought the cheapo black frames for some amazing photographs my friend took in Tibet, and, of course, there’s nothing like a potted plant to hold up a corner.
But here? Above this old old bench, what do I do? I had an ancient full-length body mirror, but it shattered. What would you do?
I would go to HomeGoods (T.J.Maxx) is what I would do – if I were to win that gift card. Here’s hoping.
Tweet with me? I’m Amberrunsamuck.

September 5, 2009Amber, your photos are so inviting, love the brown foyer wall and what you've done with it. I would have loved to have seen your ancient mirror. Don't your hate to break things you love?

September 5, 2009As a decorator, let me just say that I LOVE your colors- that chocolate brown is divine :)
I hate your mirror broke! One easy way to fill up that space on the {cheap} rather than buying another large pieces, is to paint a large frame/rectangle- perhaps with that chocolate brown color ??? and put smaller pieces inside.
Would find you some links but I'm eating dinner as I type this LOL

September 5, 2009If you don't happen to win? Get a big, tall, giant blank canvas and let your boys go nuts. It will be awesome and homemade...

September 6, 2009I need to see your house in person! I'm so sad I didn't make it over the other night. Can I have a rain check?
One idea for the burnt orange wall (which color I love!) could be to start a collection of mirrors in all different size, style and shape frames. Keep the continuity with the color of the frame.

September 7, 2009What colors. What glorious, glorious colors!
It would be dangerous for me to paint a wall chocolate. Yup. ;-)

September 7, 2009Well, first of all, I am going to hire you to decorate my house when we get one. ;]
Also, for that lovely space, I'd get some sort of fun antique-y table and more flowers and get an Uppercase Living expression!
