A Rock Home Companion and a minor miracle to note

He gets into my little office bag of supplies, wants to create, and so makes a cross necklace like Mama’s Ethiopian cross, and he asks for a photo, our crosses, our cheeks together.

We all want to create, put up little images of how we see the world. One draws water, one makes streamers at music time, and another makes body art.

I watch these boys grow big legs, long eyelashes. They’re strong. I hang you pictures here, want to show you.

Seth and I celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, a sort of off-holiday. I like it more than Valentine’s Day. Finally this week, they all look at the camera at once.

As a mom of three little boys, I know how hard it is to get a great shot of all three togehter! Love seeing your beautiful family.

Such cute boys! I love your green beads too. I forgot it was St. Patrick's day. Oops.

And another mom of three boys! Cute picture. And with only a little hand movement, did you bribe them?

LOVE this post. Isaac looks so much like his Daddy in that first picture. And love the one of all 3 boys. And ps you are the most photogenic person I've ever known. You are absolutely beautiful.

I'm thinking you had the luck of the Irish there to get all three boys looking at the camera at once -- and none of them have their eyes shut!

Precious moments, my dear! And they pass all to quickly!! Enjoy! :)

You guys are beautiful! I was just thinking of our spur of the moment trip to New Mexico and sliding around in your Ford focus. Us before kids :) Krispy Kreme donuts :) A little puppy dog (who is now rather large) squished in the backseat:) I would love to do it again. Maybe this time a bigger car (or two), 6 kids, and no dogs :) Miss you guys

Wow, Isaac looks so grown up in that picture. I had to do a double take. Matt thinks that's junior-high Ike.

And are you wearing the necklace you found looking for your passport? I love it! Hot mama.

Looking at these pictures makes me remember pulling a little Will Carothers out of class with other Ensemble members simply because he was so cute and fun to talk to. Your boys all remind me of little Wills, especially the youngest. Erin and the boys have blessed my life so many times, and now you do with your writing. I love reading your stuff.

Might you tell those boys smiling sweet over the bowls of granola tomorrow morning? -- That Miss Ann with the pigs from a long ways away in Canada --- she remembers them... and sends them wheelbarrows full of love.

She is glad we are Friends.

All's grace,
